Southern Rugs, and Sweet Rolls 💕
These last two weeks have both flown by and dragged on - though I blame the latter on the inconsistent NC “fall” weather and the government shutdown.
We found out our second baby will be another sweet little girl - and she’s already as hard-headed as her daddy! The ultrasound tech flipped me like a rotisserie chicken and debated with her for fifteen minutes before finally getting a glimpse.
My mom has had some of her restrictions from surgery lifted (praise God!), my sister is officially state licensed for her therapy position, and my husband tackled the carport/man-cave/back porch deep clean - which is nothing short of a miracle. Meanwhile, my sewing room has started to feel more me - cozy, colorful, and filled with half-finished projects, books to read and dreams.
This week I made my first jelly roll rug (and I’m obsessed), seven scrunchies, a seat cover for my sewing bench, and prepped even more fabric for the next round of bandanas and scrunchies.
Today, we had friends over for snacks and a toddler playdate, and it was the sweetest thing 💕 Not only did the little ones have a blast, but they played together - as well as 1½-year-olds do, anyway! They laughed, shared toys (sometimes), tickle-tickled each other and chattered about the whole time. We just have to work on the concept of sharing the one toddler sized squishy chair now 😂
It’s definitely been a full couple of weeks — the kind that remind me that life, like sewing and quilting, is a mix of patience, pattern, and a little bit of beautiful chaos.
