Bubbles, Butterflys, and a Bit of Magic
Yesterday my family and I went to the Renaissance Fest here in our state.
Originally, we had a plan! We’d leave early so we’d get there right when the gates opened. W.O.W. was going to wear her fairy dress, we’d find the bubble fairy, and she’d dance among the bubbles.
But, as y’all know, plans change.
With the chilly weather, we swapped to a butterfly dress and tights, never found the bubble fairy, and didn’t quite make it on time for opening. Honestly? I think the changes made the day even better.
It turned into the sweetest little getaway. W.O.W. adored the petting zoo animals, fairies, mermaids, and nymphs. She picked out some “pretty rocks” - a gift from the fairies, of course - pet and hugged the mermaids turtle friend, and even got a high-five from a green nymph.
My favorite part? Watching her joy. She was all smiles and amazement at the costumes and characters, giggling and laughing as the animals gave her kisses. My sister and husband followed along, laughing and cutting up right beside her.
Everyone was happy - and that made me happy. 🌾🧈💚
